25 Unicorn Street [Thursday night]

Jun 24, 2010 16:44

Max had found his Thursday combat class less relaxing that usual. Probably because he'd spent most of it brooding. That never helped.

He'd headed straight home and sat down to think. There had to be some way to get to Aphrodite, to remind her who she was. Unfortunately, he couldn't seem to think of one. The knock at his door was simultaneously a welcome interruption from the way his mind spun in circles going over and over the same unworkable ideas, and an aggravation.

This needed to get fixed sooner rather than later. 'Dite was powerful, and she had a lot of people who cared about her. The longer this dragged on the more likely someone was going to get seriously hurt. Emotionally if not otherwise.

Still, someone was at the door, so with a grimace he pushed himself up and slowly walked over to open it.

"Professor Max," Karla said as the door opened, "We have a plan. And we think it has a chance of succeeding."

Note, she hadn't said it was a good plan. Her arm curled just a little tighter around Raven as she asked, "May we come in?"

trigons_child

Raven was doing her best to remain calm and ignore the twisting in her stomach. The last time she'd been here she'd been asking for Max's forgiveness in accusing him of being the vampire who'd attacked her in the park. She wasn't sure what Karla had in mind, but she trusted the other girl, and if she said that Max should be involved, so be it.

Max eyed both of them, then stepped back to allow them through the door. "I'm listening."

glacial_witch

Karla knew she was asking for a lot of trust from both of them, especially Raven who hadn't actually heard the plan yet. "Well, I was thinking about what we talked about yesterday, with 'Dite needed to see something that would snap her out of whatever the Hell is wrong with her," she said slowly. "And that made me think of you and Raven, actually. And how upset she got during that whole...issue."

Skirt around that, yes we will, thanks.

"The two of you are an explosive combination, between Raven's, uhh, apprehension and your concern. And if something were to happen between you, 'Dite would be moved by a desire to protect you both."

trigons_child

Raven gave Karla a worried look, the feeling in her stomach getting worse now. "What are you suggesting, Karla?" she said.

furious_maximus

Max's eyebrows had been rising higher and higher as Karla spoke. "Yes. What are you suggesting, Karla?" Because he wasn't sure he liked the way this was heading...

And then a secret plan was revealed, reservations were expressed, and a decision was made!

glacial_witch

Karla looked at both of them awkwardly. "So, that's my idea. It isn't perfect, I know, but...I think it's workable. And I think we can all agree that getting 'Dite back to normal is worth a little risk."

trigons_child

Raven was worlds away from comfortable, but she nodded. Her own issues would be put aside. "She is worth it," she agreed. "I will do what needs to be done."

furious_maximus

Max was most definitely frowning in a way that said he was not comfortable with this. "You're talking about channeling a lot of emotion," he pointed out. "And I'm a bit uncomfortable with how much endurance is going to be necessary, but... I can't think of anything better."

glacial_witch

"We just have to trust each other," Karla said. "A lot. And when this is all over, 'Dite will owe us a few drinks, some ice cream, and a raise." See? She was joking. The tension could break aaaaany time now. "And since we're agreed...are we ready to go?"

trigons_child

Raven nodded. "I am ready," she said, hoping her voice had more conviction than what she felt.

furious_maximus

Max took a deep breath and pushed himself to his feet. "If we're going to do it, it might as well be now."

[OOC: Warning: Karla has become the brains of the operation. Preplayed with glacial_witch and trigons_child. NFI but OOC comments welcomed.]
