Max's Office - Office Hours [Thursday afternoon]

Max had been kind of lax about keeping up with his office hours this semester, mostly because things had been kind of chaotic.

But he was there today, just in case anyone wanted to stop by.

There was someone Raven hadn't seen since, oh, attempting to destroy his soul and enslave him in his father's name. She didn't exactly want to seek Max out, but she did feel she owed him an apology, so before going to Glee Club she checked to see if by chance he was having office hours. If he wasn't, then at least she'd tried, right?

So of course he was. She paused in the doorway and said quietly, "Professor Maximus?"

Max blinked. He was always surprised when Raven sought him out, and his surprise was growing greater every time she did so since every time she did things ended... poorly.

"Raven."

Um.

"Would you like to come in?" Maybe she was just walking by and felt it polite to say hello...?

Last time she'd been possessed! It totally hadn't been her fault!

She took one step inside and stopped there. "I wished to apologize for what I did in New York," she said.

Oh, and all those times when she hadn't been possessed things had gone so well.

"You wren't really yourself." So, not really her fault, exactly.

"I was, and I was not," Raven said, biting at her lip. "What I was is part of me, but with my father's destruction, its pull is much lessened."

Max shook his head. "It wasn't you." He knew enough about Raven to know that. Even if some part of her might be like that, it was a dark part, and not really who she was.

"I wish I could believe that as easily as you," Raven said, looking down at the floor. "You have seen that part of me more than once. It is something I must always control."

"We've all got our dark places," Max pointed out.

"You just need to learn better control." And the fact that she hadn't just served to tick Anakin down a bit more in Max's opinion.

If Raven could read Max's narrative, she would've given him a total bitch please look.

"I have learned a great deal about control, but I was no match for my father's strength," she said. "That will no longer be a problem, however." She hoped. She still worried about how Sebastian brought her back.

Well, if she did, he'd just roll his eyes. He already knew she was blind to Anakin's plethora of faults.

"Good." He'd offer to help, but... yeah, that never went very well.

Oh little did Max know....

"I also wished to thank you for attempting to find me and bring me home," Raven said. She didn't know exactly why Karla had decided to ask Max to come with the others, though.

"You're not surprised, are you?"

[trigons_child]

"I was," Raven admitted. "Of all who came after me, you were the one who truly surprised me."

[furious_maximus]

Max frowned. "Why?" She was still his student.

[trigons_child]

"Our relationship has hardly been a healthy one," Raven pointed out.

[furious_maximus]

"That doesn't make you not my student." Some things really were that simple.
