OMG you wrote more IchiIshi! What a treat! It took me a bit to wrap my head around the Quincy AU but when the characters are written so well, it wasn't too hard. I love so many of the lines in this, like Ichigo wanting to punch his dick in the face and even his bad joke near the end. I love Ichigo POVs and this one did not disappoint. Already saved this in Memories.

I didn't mean for it to be a straight-up AU though I guess since the jury is out on Ichigo's nascent Quincy powers in canon, it kind of is. I'm really curious where Kubo will take that angle!

Well, I should have said "AU-ish" instead of "AU". I suspect Ichigo is going to call upon a combo of all his non-Shinigami powers to mend Zangetsu so he'll probably have to train in other things. For me, the most AU part was Juha Bach going from Big Baddie to Helpful Teacher, but I'm fine with most Bleach AUs because, let's face it, who knows where Kubo will go with his story and most of what we right, even if it's close-to-canon at the time ends up as AU. It's one of the joys and frustrations of writing for open canon stories.

For me, though, I care far less about canon than I do about characterization, and you write these guys wonderfully. Also, I forgot to mention it in my first comment, but the sex scene was great. As was Ishida's adorably awkward confession, and Ichigo not getting that it was, in fact, a confession. They're such dorks, and I love them being that way.

Ohhh, I see what you mean! I am not actually convinced Juhabach is the big bad! I mean, he is obviously made out to be that way but I'm really not sure, mostly because of the familial connection (I'm working under the assumption that Juhabach is related to Ichigo by blood, somehow). Kubo's narratives seem to really treasure blood ties above all others, which is why it's difficult for me to see Ichigo going up against a blood relative to conclude the series, which in turn makes me think that some New Menace (that threatens all of creation, because this is shounen) will arise and Soul Society, Vandenreich, and the surviving Arrancar will reluctantly join forces to defeat it and then kind of... stay reluctant allies, the way Bleach seems to usually go. I mean, it would be interesting if Ichigo had to confront the idea that "yes Virginia your relatives can be terrible people too and you are under no obligation to like them or support all that they do" but I'm not sure Kubo will go there. But yeah, writing fic for an open canon is always

Love this so much! I'm behind on the manga, so I have no clue about this Quincy!Ichigo thing, but I like the idea. I love the measurements as foreplay and I can just see Ishida totally reining in the exact same things Ichigo is struggling with, only he's more used to faking it than Ichigo. I also love the fact that someone is still writing these two. I check this comm every other week or so, usually in vain, but it's always wonderful when an awesome new post shows up. I'm writing a long one for these two, but it's taken me about two months to write ~40k words and I'm only half to two-thirds done, so who knows when I'll be able to post it? So, thanks for posting such a unique, intriguing, and well-characterized fic!

With the manga winding down it's expected that not a lot of people are writing the really old pairings but I agree it's a shame there aren't a lot of people writing this ship any more. T_T I hope you post the longfic you're writing when it's finished!
