Pics of things I picked up at school, and some stuff that I've simply not shared before. The first section is from my college pickings

Awesome collection! I love that most of what you have is found rather than bought. I don't find much of anything but squirrels around here, so most of what I keep has been purchased. I absolutely love that squirrel mummy!
I don't know much about birds, but female Scarlet Tanager maybe? I really have no idea, but the colours seem right.
Unless it's something really unusual that I'm not likely to find myself, like a seal tooth or a strange Asian beetle, I always feel a little guilty about buying things because it feels like cheating, haha. In that regard, I consider myself more of a scavenger than a collector, you know? But that's just how I wing it, nothing wrong with buying stuff. :D
And keep your eyes open, and look down (just not all the time or you'll walk into trees). I tend to find things when I'm not looking for them but when I -am- looking, observing. But I've lost just as many things by not having a bag on my person at all times, haha.
And maybe a Scarlet Tanager; the color does seem similar. They go through Florida when they migrate, and I found it in April. I don't know if that coincides with their migration.
I like that philosophy. I wish i could do the same, but my want list tends to turn towards the more exotic species that I could never find here. I'm always looking down (well, most of the time anyhow), but only ever finding flat squirrels and the occasional rabbit! :(
I have four in my freezer right now. Three grey and one black. I'd be happy to share, but I may need to get them out of their skin first since Canada Post, FedEx and every other shipping company says no to frozen dead animals for taxidermy. Somehow I doubt they will be as easy to skin as the snake.
