hello again spidey faithful...

I just got back from my trip to Boston last night. I'm gonna be straight with ya, I was hoping that I wouldn't end up posting until around ten or eleven this morning when I finally decided to mosey on out of bed, but for some reason my body decided to wake up early. Anywho, on to the trip.

The reason that my dad, my mom, and I went on this trip in the first place is that I'm hoping to switch out of Penn State. I know that those of you who have been faithfully following this, besides needing to thoroughly get some kind of life, will note that I seemed pretty excited to go to Penn State before. Well, that would be true, however that is decidedly not the case now. I'm not going to go into the details now because, truthfully, I really, really don't feel like talking about them. Suffice it to say that for varied and god reasons I feel that the best course of action for me at this point is to transfer. So, after some research, I came up with three schools that I'd like to go to: Syracuse, Brandeis, and Boston University. So, as you might have guessed, yesterday we visited both Brandeis and BU.

Brandeis' campus was...well...nice. It was a lot smaller than Penn State's (I understand how much of a durh! moment that was), but that's to be expected becuase it's simply a smaller school. It was kind of hard to get the whole campus life feel from it because there weren't any students there. In fact, there wasn't much of anything there really. We were essentialy alone on the campus. We walked around for about an hour to take the whole of the place in. Nothing was really terrible about it, but nothing really caught my eye. It seems like I'd be fine there, and with Boston a train ride's away, the city is certainly accesible.

After that we went into the city to see BU. After some (fun?) driving and the subsequent getting hopelesly lost, we finally managed to get onto Commonwealth Ave. which is essentialy where the campus is. I have to say, I fell in love with the Boston area almost from the second that I entered it. I can't really place why I loved it so much, I just did. The campus of BU itself isn't really very big, it's more of just a strip of buildings on Commonwealth, but as far as I'm concerned the campus is essentially the city of Boston. When I was walking around I really got a sense that I could see myself there. Now, to be fair, none of the students were there so I can't really say for sure, but I really liked what I saw. I think I'll be going back at some point to stay with a student there although I'm not sure when that's going to happen.

So out of the two I would have that I enjoyed BU more than I did Brandeis. My view for both is a little jaded because none of the kids were actually there nor were any buildings available to go into. But this was the only time that both of my parents had off from work, so it would have to do. The last school I visit will be Syracuse in Febuary. Yeah, it'll be cold. Not only will there be students present when I go, but I'll be staying with Brianna, who I may have a strong, strong attraction to. After that trip I think I'll be able to better guage where I really want to go, but at this point it's BU. I'll keep ya posted LJ. Till next time...
