Hello again all! I know, I know, it's been a while. That's because I haven't had a computer. Yes, that's right, one day about a month and a half ago my hard drive decided to die. So I called HP and they told me to send it in to get it fixed. Now, though my brother has had nothing but terrible experiences with HP's tech support I've only really had positive experiences. So I send it in, expecting that everything would be going fine; that was a silly expectation. First, the tech support people drove me crazy. Now, I understand that outsourcing has become quite the fad in American companies, but my god, at least hire people who can speak coherent English! I've always been one to be sympathetic to those people because they're just doing their job, but I was really driven to my wit's end. The part that did it for me was, when I called to check on the status of the repair, one of the tech support people was arguing with me that I need to send my computer in. My logic was, if I didn't send my computer in, why would I be checking the status of its repair? I was then told that I needed to ask for a refund. That's when I knew that I needed to speak with a case manager. Essentially, the HP hierarchy goes, tech support and supervisors in India, case managers in Canada. At least I knew that I would be able to understand them.

After a month of waiting to see if my computer has been fixed I was told that they had lost it. How does a corporation that manages thousands upon thousands of computers a day lose one? I guess that is is probably pretty easy, but I just think that they'd be able to keep track better. The upside of this is that I would be able to get a new computer. The downside of this is that I lost everything on my old one, literally everything. Well, that's all well and good, but at least I get a new computer out of it. So I order my new computer (with free upgrades) with my case manager and he sends in the order...except that he didn't get the order approved. So it wasn't until a week later, when I called to check on the status of my new computer, that we both found out that the order hadn't been approved. So after he had the order approved it was just a waiting game. A week and a half later (yesterday) I get a fresh, brand-spankin' new compy delivered to me. So, I guess that I'm glad that I get a new computer and all, but this whole process has been one big headache. So, yeah, I've been without a computer for the past month and a half. Fear not, though, now that I've got a computer again I'll try to get more frequent updates in.

Oh, and a week ago yesterday was my birthday. Yay for 20! Being a teenager was lame anyway. Till next time...
