My one deepest regret in the doll hobby is that I never managed to get a DO/77 Bermann.
I entered the lotteries again and again, but never won -- and I have some personal financial decisions that I've made about how much of a markup I'm willing to tolerate on the secondary market, and the competition for Bermanns has always been too fierce. I love my Dollshe boys, and I'm really glad that I took the plunge and got two more (Ethan and Seth, IM and SA Hounds) when Dollshe had their sale last year.
The body reviews are really helpful -- I'm still a sucker for the Hound and Pure bodies, but I love the innovation and spirit of invention that "Mr. Dollshe" invests into all of his work. He could have taken the easy road and stuck with the popular sculpts and kept selling the small "pack" of original Dollshe boys -- but, instead, he closed his business and went to work creating something entirely new and risky. And now he's doing it again with David Kuncci, who is an absolute sculptural work of art . . . I never cease to be deeply impressed by his commitment to his artistry and to advancing the craft of dollmaking.
