I thought this appropriate. Here it is once again...
A Squirrel's: The night before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through that abode,
Not a human was stirring, not even on the commode;
The stockings were hung over that really hot place,
In hopes that a Jolly fat Guy would be there with haste;
The siblings were dreaming all comfy in bed,
While mice in the attic did sleep o’r their heads;
And mamma and daddy being naughty next room,
And I watching from the tree did start to loom,
When atop that big house there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my nest to see what was the matter.
Away to the hole I scurried in a flash,
Around the many nuts I had earlier stashed.
The Christmas lights glowed bright all around,
Gave the appearance of twilight to everything it found,
When, what to my small little eyes should appear,
But a Humongous sleigh, and eight flying deer,
With a really old driver, crazy and full of glee,
I thought to myself: ‘this guy’s A.D.H.D.
More rapid than Terriers his creatures they came,
And he whistled, and I think he called them by name:
"Now, BASHER! now, CANCER! now, PANZI and VIXEN!
On, COMET! on BOBBY! on, DONDER and BLITZCREED!
To the top of the car! to the top of the wall!
Now dash around! dash around! dash around all!"
"As the kite in a hurricane is trying to fly,
Is what these things looked like up in the sky,
So up to the house-top the reindeer they flew,
With the sleigh full of gadgets, and that fat guy too.
And then, in a banging, I heard on the roof,
The bouncing and clawing of each little hoof.
I jumped to the home from my tree standing by,
And followed down the chimney, that red suited guy.
He was dressed all in fur, not the soft kind but rough,
And his clothes were all messed up with ashy black stuff;
A bag of great value he had by his side,
and he looked like a man with something to hide.
His eyes -- how they sparkled! his dimples how scary!
His cheeks were like candy, his nose like a fairy's!
His face had a smile that was drawn really high,
And his beard was white, like a cloud in the sky;
A very big belly was on this poor fellow,
And it shook, when he laughed like a bowl of Jell-O.
I thought he would steal everything on the tree,
And I almost sprang on him until he turned towards me;
He held out his hand and to my surprise,
Were a couple acorns of considerable size;
A wink of his eye, he was trying to bribe me,
It was then I remembered my Squirrel loyalty;
So I attacked him and scratched him with all of my might,
And he started to scream when I started to bite,
He took off his coat with me still attached,
I guess that he knew, he just wasn’t a match;
Up the chimney he went as fast as could,
Only to find his sleigh gone, alone he stood.
His reindeer scared off by my furry tailed friends,
Gave him a reason to fear that this was his end.
Don’t worry little child, you’ll see by the morning,
We let that Santa guy off with a warning.
But to you let this be an example that’s true,
If you mess with larri, worse could happen to you.”
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
