It's a tough world out there, kid.

"How do you eat an elephant?"
"One bite at a time"

Seems simple, doesn't it? A helpful piece of advice to break down a daunting task into small, manageable, digestible parts. Take it one piece at a time and you won't even realize the task was so hard.

Take the same principle though, and apply it to the task at hand - the task of living a life, and it becomes remarkably unhelpful.

I've been swept away in the day to day routine. Pushing every day to make the sale, squeeze every penny out of every person that sets foot in my store. The days fly by, one blur of cell phone activations and Flyer Fridays.

If I can just get through this one day, and then the next one, and the one after, I'll be alright. Except in that attempt to find a path with less resistance, I've become soft. Physically, mentally, emotionally soft.

Living life one day at a time is not the way to live. I don't want my life to be digestible. I want it to be an epic battle that culminates in one final, magical moment when I look in the mirror and say: "Wow, that was totally worth it".
