I don't think setting a time limit for cleaning one's bedroom unreasonable at all. If you can't get it done in two hours, then perhaps you have to much "stuff". I mean, really. If her room gets that bad in the space of one week *shaking head*.
She started "working on it" yesterday. She was told that it had to be done before she went away for the week. She spent more time reading/drawing/playing with her make-up than actual cleaning. Then she pulled out the dramatics last night ("Why are you so mean to me!") 'cus I wouldn't let her watch a movie till her room was done. She had had all day!!!!
So today when she was doing anything but her room, I gave her a time limit. She's done it in less time so I know that it can be done. It's not like she hasn't had to clean her room once a week for the last nine years!
You know, of course, that it is my job as their mother to be mean ;-P
