Damn, I had no idea Track was so political. Here's how it all went down. Cumberland funds the banquet to honor the all-state athletes in indoor track. Providence is way back the corner with Classical and Hope. We were supposed to share a table, but each of us took over one table. Next, they havea speaker call up each coach by by to hand out plaques to the athletes. oh that's nice. EP's dead last, in fact, they stop and ask "Have we missed anyone?" How many damn high school does Rhode Island have you degenerate inbred bowling ball? Then he just says "come on up" like it's the price is right. doesn't even say coach's name. When we get up there, Cumberland is blatantly pointing and laughing at us for who knows what. and almost every single plaque is wrong. Infact, they altogether "forgot" my academic all-state plaque. Apparently we have someone named "ROROGERS" on our team. This is after the people in charge recieved a typed memo from coach to prevent this situation. I'd say the only accomodating person there was the coach from URI. I told him how I'd be at URI and was looking forward to being there. He asked me and Seun about our possible majors and times and events.
So by this time we are fuckin' pissed. The entire ride home, we were using the F word like our best friend. we were saying how we hate all the football coaches at EP who didn't give a cent to get Eric Osei to the national meet. The Hendricken Coaches who go after our kids constantly, the time time the official disqualified EP from the relay in the state meet even though the old bastard wasn't even watching the track. How all the gym teachers are fat and lazy and can only show kids how to get donuts at half price. How Duarte can't see his own dick.
We've decided the only way to their respect is to win the state title. Hendricken's 11 year consecutive title is going down. We won't be sat in the corner, we won't be forgotten, and we won't have our names mispelled!
