I don't know what to call this, so there!

Yesterday was the first day of bargaining with EHS (they own two hospitals here, with about 17-1800 members)it was straight shit.
Seriously, we had people on the bargaining team crying, and I can safely say they were not overreacting. It was bad.
Our bargaining team had spent the last last three and a half months preparing with some very basic proposals and a few bigger ones, like don't fire us all when you sell the hospital (to the largest for-profit chain in U.S. sometime between Jan-Mar), give us raises every year, no subcontracting. They were serious. EHS was not, they essentially brought in the contract lined out. Nothing but take backs. Nothing. I haven't been to the table a bunch but even I am astute enough to recognize the fucked upedness of that move.
So the team cried and screamed and were just generally upset at them for two hours and then asked management to leave.
Then they took off to the hospital to share with their co-workers the awesomeness that were these proposals. People are PISSED, which in a weird way is good because over the last few months they have by and large been very disengaged with what is going on in their hospital, with their jobs.
Now we are planning actions and groups of people have been calling or coming to the office to discuss plans.
Who knows maybe we can pull this chapter out of the fire?
