I'M MARRIED!!
If I had to choose one word to describe my wedding day, it would be FUN. If I had to choose a second, it'd be LATE. We were all supposed to be at the church at 12:00, but since my hair took a little longer than expected to style (maybe due in part to Chris's mom, a professional hairdresser, arriving to my sister's house a little late), Juice and I got there at 12:30. No big deal though; I just had to pay the flower deliverer, who'd been waiting there since 12:00. Then there was nothing to do but wait for everyone else to arrive. My mom and the groom didn't get there until about 1:30. Some guests arrived at 1:00 because I forgot to tell them I messed up and told them the wrong time, an hour earlier than it was supposed to. If you couldn't tell, the whole process of planning and actually carrying out this wedding was quite disorganized. =)
The ceremony was really nice. Sophie, Chris's youngest sister, did such a good job as flower girl. My nephew Austin read from 1 Corinthians and was absolutely spot on. Aaron actually found it in him to not be obnoxious long enough to hold the rings quietly during the whole ceremony. The music was the best part though. The wedding party and I walked in to Smashing Pumpkins "Tonight, Tonight" and Chris and I lit the unity candle and signed our marriage license to Smashing Pumpkins "Stand Inside Your Love". We exited to a jazzy, acoustic version of Foo Fighters "Everlong". The pastor, at 82, forgot the order of the ceremony, so we lit the candle after he presented us as "Mr. and Mrs. Christopher O'Brien". He also forgot the vows for me to repeat halfway through, but I thought it was cute and fun. It really took the pressure off us and I had a lot of fun after that.
