Update
Been home, but been pretty tired. Still pretty tired. Our new cat, Zathras, is currently at the vet's, recuperating from getting neutered. The good news is that he's mostly in good health--and very well-behaved--but he does have a heart murmur. If the heart murmur sticks around, he'll need more testing done to determine if or what's wrong. So... trying not to freak out over that.
Will post about Christmas later, likely in a locked post, but it was a good visit and was nice to see my family again.
