Mom just called to tell me that Psalm 100 will be read at Grandpa's funeral this Saturday. For those of you who don't know the Psalms by heart (which I assume will be all of you), Psalm 100 is known as a Psalm of Thanksgiving. Here's the text:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures for ever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
The Corinthians verse about love was what Grandma wanted read, but Peter changed it on her and the minister (without telling the minister).
Rob and I will be showing up at the funeral location an hour early so I have some real quiet time to say goodbye to Grandpa, as it's becoming more and more clear that the funeral is not going to serve in that function for me.
family,
