God as Fire Insurance
It is my firm belief that we as Christians would be more effective in causing lives to be changed if we spoke of God's unconditional love and grace rather than the threat of eternal damnation. After all, who would not respond to love, respect, compassion and hope? Why would anyone respond to threats of hell and eternal torture? Wouldn't it be better to fall in love with God because God first loved us rather than to follow God as fire insurance?
