I know I've promised a Christmas update, but I'm lazy and don't feel like typing up all the details. Here's the jist of it:
Saturday we did lunch with Grandma and Grandpa, and then visited with Marcie, Mia, and Grandmere. Sunday we went to the Amesbury Meetinghouse for Meeting for Worship, after which I was supposed to be dropped off at Jess's... but she was asleep. We had Christmas dinner with Mom's family (including extended) at 1. My cousins have grown up so much. It was weird seeing them... I can't believe Skylar's in high school already. At 2:15, we left to meet Pa at his house, from which we went to Mass (I didn't take Communion; no one mentioned it), and then had Christmas dinner with Pa's family and presents. Monday we opened presents with Mom, Bob, Alex, Isaac, Marcie, and Mia. Monday night, Jess and Chris came over. They stayed for over tow hours, which passed really fast once we got talking. She felt bad about sleeping through the day before. But I feel closer to her now than I've felt for a while, like she's actually really my best friend instead of just in name.
Mom and Bob were really sick when we left Tuesday... I'm hoping they feel better soon, and that I won't get what they had.
As for presents, I got a lot of good ones. I got slippers from both Mom and Pa (yay for throwing out 12 year old slippers... finally ;p), books from Mom, stuff from my wishlist from Pa, etc. I don't want to list everything, because I don't want anyone being offended if I forget a present or two. Rob's gifts, as usual, weren't physical things. He's paying for
xdarkxdjinnix to fly out and visit us for a week or two, which will be nice. We really need to reconnect; I haven't seen her for years. He also let me spend about $200 on stuff off my wishlist (big one: Dragon Naturally Speaking!), and is letting me donate $100. I also bought a pair of
medieval moccasins, which should be arriving next week.
As for the $100 I get to donate, I think I'm going to give $50 to Third Haven (my Meeting) and $50 to
SOME, which is an interfaith charity serving the homeless in DC.
So, there it is.
