Hmm. I've been considering taking an online course in the fall in World Civilizations I with the same prof I had for Cultural Geography last fall. He was a really interesting prof, and I've changed a LOT since I took World Civ (which was actually Western Civ) in high school. I think it'd be really interesting to be exposed to that history again from such a different perspective. And this prof is very good at challenging pre-conceived notions of things, too.
But I just found this:
Cultural Anthropology ("An objective understanding of the wide variation of human cultures using the scientific method. Students will be involved in analyzing culture and personality, governmental and money systems, language, family organization, religion, and other cultural characteristics of society. Three hours of lecture per week."). No prof is listed yet, but it looks really interesting. It's a summer online class. I'm a little bit worried about how heavy the workload might be: this is a full credit class, but only lasts 7 weeks.
So: I could take one of these (which one?), OR I could be really adventurous and take both (if finances work out). HMM.
