Nesting, apparently

I have been doing some nesting, which is basically some people's word for me liking things neat and stowed away in our flat. It's my Dad's genes, pretty sure I can blame him. I love things looking tidy and always feel invigorated and accomplished afterwards. So I've recently bought this awesome canvas shoe storage unit which means our shoes are no longer jumbled up on the floor. Anthony very sweetly put it together for me before I got back from work, only he managed to stab himself in the hand with the screwdriver too which made him bleed and made him angry with himself. Whoops. He also bought himself a plastic crate for his many hockey jerseys - so they're not longer stuffed into a large binbag. He has so many, he's actually got to buy himself another crate. We've gotten everything boxed away in the spare room so it can all be stored in the built-in cupboards and we can finally buy a fold-out sofa or futon, then we can actually have people to stay. Hurrah!

So nesting, yes I enjoy it. Anthony does not, he says he's not very good at it so he's happy to let me take the lead on that kind of thing. Fine by me, though he may regret it. My parentals came visiting over the weekend, bringing me fresh daffodils and some pretty earrings, while I had some token gifts from Canada to give them. Mum's getting all geared up for her 60th next month, my brother's even coming home for it, there's going to be a tea party/open house in the afternoon and then us kids are gonna cook her an evening meal before we all go to a posh hotel in the evening for a night away together, which should be amazing fun as we went to the same hotel as a family when we were very young. There's a gorgeous swimming pool apparently so I'll have to check if the swimgear I've got actually still fits/suits me. The answer is likely no. Anthony's not a fan of swimming but he reckons he might give it a go. He's also missing hockey for such an occasion, something he's very peeved about, especially as the weekend after he'll likely miss it too. Family can be a burden, I reminded him ;) I reckon it's worth it, I can't wait.
