Fic Recs - Clint Barton/Phil Coulson
This was probably my first real favourite pairing in the Avengers Movie verse. It was something about their brief interaction in Thor that got to me and since seeing that film, I have read a lot of Clint/Coulson fics. And I suddenly realised that I hadn't done a fic rec post for them. Truth be told, there's a lot of amazing Clint/Coulson fics out there and if I don't limit myself, this post will be unending. So here's a few of my hardcore favourites that I keep on coming back to because they grab me by the heart. I'm sure I'll do more Avengers Movie verse fic recs posts in the future and probably more Coulson/Clint ones. Hope there's something here that people enjoy as much as I do. They continue to be a badass favourite pairing of mine.

The team are awesome and help Phil feel good about his new workspace. Clint is especially awesome. The ending makes me LOL every time and just feel good. I love the ease and awesomeness of their relationship.

LOL at how difficult the Avengers would be to live with but there are plus points to living with your boyfriend ;) Very fun and great look into what life in the tower could be like. How good Clint and Coulson are for each other is especially wonderful.

Deep-sea fishing AU. Phil Coulson is the best fisherman on the North Atlantic. He works alone and likes it that way, but sometimes even he feels the need to pick up the radio and hear another human voice.
I love how they can be lifelines for each other. The bond that builds between them only via voices is really brilliantly built and believable. I love that they have each other. Two lonely souls finding each other.

A badass AU. Coulson deals with a lot. But he has Clint in the end, which is very awesome. The team as West Wing-style characters works so well. I just love Coulson in this. He makes me want to be better at my job. Also this author is my favourite in many fandoms - everything they write is utter brilliance.

Laugh out loud wonderful. Oh Clint. Also post-movie, so spoilerphobes beware. Natasha is brilliant here and Thor is adorable. I really hope this is what happens after the movie. It's truly fun and so beautifully warm to read. Highly reccommended.

After the Avengers save the world, they split apart; each dealing with the events in their own way. After finding Pepper weeping over a set of Captain America trading cards, Tony Stark decides that enough is enough and starts putting the puzzle pieces together.
Post movie - beware spoilers. Beautifully heartbreakingly melancholic. The atmosphere is perfect. How I can imagine Coulson and Clint dealing after the film and how they could reunite. It's not all glowy perfection, it's difficult and it's them. A definite favourite.

Post movie. Awesome getting-together fic. With much smexy hot times *thumbs up*. Clint and Coulson find their way to each other, despite both their post-movie suffering and changes. And of course they're awesome together. Yummy.

By Phil’s count, this is his third attempt at bringing the Avengers together, although he will admit his participation in the second attempt was more symbolic than anything else. He hadn’t expected Stark to be the easiest sell, or Barton to be the most problematic, but things have changed since he’s been away.
More post movie. More melancholy as Clint deals angrily and badly with Coulson's return. Great team fic too, believable as they knit back together and actually become a team and Clint and Coulson work things out between them eventually. Truly lovely.

This feels magical, like a folk story. It explores Clint's past, who he meets and what he wishes for. It feels wistful and burning and so very perfect for somebody who spent so much of their life as part of a circus. Clint and Coulson's own bit of magic made together.

Fun and filthy. A very enjoyable and believable look at the progress of Clint and Coulson's relationship. This one is guaranteed to always make me smile and has a real 'awwww' of an ending.
