so i've been pretty busy the past few days, haven't really been able to get online much. thursday was same-old same-old at the ol particle accelerator (except that place is cold as a Low Energy Neutron Source, oh wait, that place IS a Low Energy Neutron Source! HAHAHA) but after I left, i came home, changed, checked my e-mail (i think) and headed out to camp and got there a bit before dinner.
it was great to go back out there. 3 weeks straight is a bit much but in small doses, its amazing. All these campers who knew me from pasts years were all excited to be here. got to hang with some buds out there (hi Anne, even though Anne doesn't know i have an lj, she's awesome). After defeating the camper to defend my pecker-pong championship, I headed out for some ultimate frizbee action, the shirts needed me! As I was running fromt he side to the field, I saw the skins on attack (btw, only campers can score even though staff dominate the game) so I sprinted out there just in time to smash down a would-be touchdown. I then proceeded in the "dream-crusher" role I am so familiar with out there. I smash the dreams of little kids on the ultimate field and the pecker-pong table. I played amazing besides having the worst shoes possible (i could try to start running and just slip)
as that ame was winding down, 4-square was heating up. i quickly joined and became a fair non-tiranical king briefly. I'm sorta talking about all this camp stuff which no-one knows anything about because y'all haven't been out there. campfire was outstanding (yea phil the camper and his Chuck Norris jokes! How had Anne not heard of the phenomena?) not enough music for my taste but Doyle was there with his 12 (yes 12) string guitar and rocked some tuneskies. The rest of the night was nice and awesome and fire and mystery and ceremonious and fire and not cold (cause i had a jacket) and fire! Best brownies ever after! But yea, Anne was heading in to b-town so at about 2:30 i decided to follow her and we'd honk if either of us started to fall asleep and swerve, it was totally safe. Rocked out to The Heads (like 3 of the 4 from the talking heads. the album is called "no talking, just heads) getting up for more programmng in the morning was not fun.
but i made it in (craftily i had said i was gonna be late). I actually had a major breakthrough this morning in the program code that basically meant that all my learning was not for naught. I then spent the rest of the day realizing how it actually was not good. and how I was so close... yet so far away. But I didn't leave till like 6 (on a friday!) and got home in time to eat and go back to brown county for a play. twas a good play with short acts if i do say so myself. funny stuff, though. came back, grabbed some brusters and retired downstairs to catch up with 2 days of online shit while listening to the futureheads (outstanding).
but then i was talking to nicole online about muse cause i had just downloaded the single from the new album (song called Supermassive Black Hole) its a bit weird. I've heard the new album (named black holes and something else) was even sorta funky so i'll totally check that out. but then Muse got me thinking of radiohead, and my dad said how OK Computer was voted like the 4th best album ever behind like 2 beatles and dark side of the moon. so I began listening, and it just ended this past 15 seconds! awesome timing! i gotta listen to them more (Paranoid Android RULES!!)
so tired.... but i can sleep in tomorrow! except I gotta clean the shit outta the basement and go back out to camp to drop Kirsty off (3 times to brown county in 3 days? hellz yea) then I'll be gone Sunday at King's Island so woo-hoo!
paranoid android [esp when it gets all rockin' with the guitars]= awesome sauce (i was about to put that in gambas code but decided its too early in the summer to pull a sami o.)
