Now for something different

After spending 4 years getting comfy @ UBC I am now wandering around BCIT with a map & looking like those overwhelmed 1st years I have made fun of since 2nd year.  I am starting to actual do assignments in my Broadcast Journalism program & I know I am going to enjoy all of it so very much. We already have a great photography assignment coming up & I've already handed in a radio news 40 second script. Plus our final project due in December is this mini movie - which will be so much fun to put together! As a consequence I will have no life beginning next week for basically the next 2 years of my life. ACK! I begin class every day @ 8:30am & some days I'm not done until 5:30pm. If you do anything that would be considered unprofessional in the workplace (come to class late, hand in a story late, misuse equipment/computers) then you get a pink slip. 3 pink slips & you're kicked out of the program. If an assignment or story is due @ 10:20am & I hand it in @ 10:22am I am late & get a big fat zero. They are that harsh. But it makes sense for the industry - I mean if you go on-air @ 3:30pm & you aren't ready then well you miss you slot & you screw over a whole bunch of people. Ok, so besides all the getting up early & having to make sure I'm professional @ all times the program is full of awesome people & I'm going to enjoy it anyways.

I miss all my friends @ UBC & seeing familiar faces while walking around. But some people I miss aren't even @ UBC anymore, so I tell myself I just gotta try with all the busy times to keep in touch.

A Friday night filled with swimming, dinner, a great movie & white roses was the perfect ending to a crazy hectic first week!

New beginnings are always fun & exciting. So I'm off on my next challenge...
