Happy January 22nd, everyone! Academy Award nominations were released early this morning, and it looks like it's going to be an interesting year. I would've totally forgotten the remake of Psycho if you didn't just remind me! DAMN YOU!

Fincher probably should get Best Director, though I must admit I have not seen Slumdog Millionaire or Milk yet. I, however, wasn't in total awe of the writing of Benjamin Button; Some of the symbolism was questionable and there was a little bit too much of "aw, shucks!" for my liking with Pitt's narration. Also, Cate Blanchett should get an award for her dancing. That scene where they're by the pond/pool/whatever? Jesus, the rest of the film could have been her just dancing.

Winslet might not win because of the GG jinx (which, I'm surprised you yourself didn't point out for her, since you did it with Slumdog), and my money is on Hathaway (who I have a terrible celeb crush on). However, I haven't seen Streep in Doubt, nor have I seen Angelina in Changeling.

As for who doesn't love Peter Gabriel? Those who weren't raised listening to the glory that is Secret World Live, probably.

As for hearing about Rachel Getting Married sucking, I'm afraid the Internet is against you on that one.

As for TDK... Don't get me started.

First off, I feel that everyone should remember the remake of Psycho, so something like that never happens again.

As for CCoBB, as I stated before that one scene in particular literally made my jaw drop to the floor. Although, I watched a video that made me laugh SO hard at funnyordie.com. It's on the main page. Eric Roth penned both Forrest Gump and CCoBB, and its UNCANNY how similar the events in both films are. Quite hilarious. I still think it has a good shot at winning that screenplay category.

I'm pretty sure 90% of males from 18-25 have a huge crush on Anne Hathaway. And I didn't mention Winslet not winning because I truly think she's the clear favorite, even if she did win two Golden Globes. The last actress to win both was Helen Mirren two years ago, and I think that Kate has a SUPERB chance of doing that again. She's had a fantastic year and everyone loves her.

I <3 Peter Gabriel.

As for Rachel Getting Married, I was going off my sources at Point Park who I talked to recently, as well as the notable disdain that was present in that IMDB forum. But then again, I haven't seen it, so I really can't judge it for myself. And if there is one thing I've learned in the past, it's to never trust the Internet
