I have a lot on my mind

I haven't updated in a week, when I originally said a week ago that I would update soon. Ha. Oh well, let's try to organize thoughts here.

Last week I saw Speed Racer, and absolutely fell in love. Easily the coolest stylized movie I have ever seen. Despite low box office sales in it's opening weekend (The film cost around 300 million to make, including advertising, and it barely made 20 million in it's opening weekend) I think that this film will become a cult classic. It's basically a live action cartoon. This, of course, is not for everyone. People on the forums either absolutely love it, or think it's the biggest piece of shit they've ever seen. If you couldn't tell, I'm obviously with the first group. John Goodman gives a FANTASTICALLY convincing performance, which was a nice surprise. Emile Hirsch was actually a really good speed racer. I must say though, the monkey and the kid who played Spridal...I kinda wanted to shoot them. However, their part at the end of the movie when Speed and Trixie kiss redeemed them from hours of being annoying, because it was friggin hilarious. Also...seeing Speed Racer led me to this point....

MATTHEW FOX (Who played Racer X in Speed Racer) should be CAPTAIN AMERICA. Yes, I know it's a longshot and it probably won't happen, but it would just fit so well! I wholeheartedly think he could pull off that role with ease.

That leads me to write about how excited I'm getting with the Summer Movie Season approaching. Although I'm in school until June 13th, so it doesn't feel like Summer, I just had the realization that we've already begun Summer movies, and that means pure excitement. Box office sales are finally starting to kick back up, especially in terms of our biggest seller of the year, Iron Man. I believe the count as of now is $222 million, with it still making like 30 million in its third weekend out. The new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian, made somewhere in the 50 million range. It's getting very exciting! Especially with Indy 4 opening next weekend. The downside to that is that I think George Lucas has lost his mind, but I'll write why in another entry. On a final note in terms of Summer movies, I am fully prepared to actually pay for my ticket to The Dark Knight, in hopes that it will break the record this summer, because it is for SURE the most anticipated movie of the season, and I'm thinking it has the potential. And I love Batman. :)

Let's see. I've been back at OU a week now since I last went home. And good GOD I don't want to be here. The hatred I have for this place grows and grows with each day. I feel like I've wasted a whole year being here, and I just can't wait to get out of this place. When I'm here, I'm edgy, I have no desire to do anything, and I'm overall depressed. I'll be home for Memorial Day weekend, so I just have to make it through this week. Then I have 18 more days after that until I can finally come home and rid myself of what is Ohio University.

Which leads me to my next point. I got accepted into the film program at Point Park University, which is like in the heart of Pittsburgh. When I had learned of my acceptance there, I was also notified that I got $1,000 from the school for each year for academics. Which, yeah, my grades aren't where they should be, so I'm glad I got that. However, I had to also send a portfolio and go through with a phone interview for the cinema program. So I sent in Hamlet and the Coe Lake Project as my portfolio projects. Apparently they liked me, because yesterday I got notified I got artistic scholarships as well. They're giving me $2000 more every year after viewing the portfolio. I'm so excited. Hopefully things work out...

This week is going to suck. I have so much to do and so little motivation to do any of it.

Regotti and Kevin visited this weekend. Regotti got funnier. The kid is hilarious. Kevin got drunk and went to a dance club, which is funny in itself. We hung out with Alex and Andy a lot which is always a good thing. Those two are the best friends I've made down here, and I'm going to miss them a lot.

Well, this thing is long enough, and I should probably get some work done. Love to everyone.
