First SSU Council Meeting
Hi all.
We had our first student union council meeting today. For those of you who aren't aware I was elected as the Queer Representative.
The meeting went okay. I really didn't know what to expect going in so it was a bit of an eye opener, and so much more political than I expected. There were a couple of dudes there who were quite argumentative, and were obviously opposed to the majority "Student Voice" ticket members.
For the next meeting I'm going to propose starting a campaign with the uni admin to re-instate a Queer Space, the old one being destroyed when the building it was in got demolished. I'm also thinking of organizing a Queer Day on campus. Details to follow.
