Just how deep do they run? Enough to irritate other people? Enough to get in the way of your day to day life? Enough to hurt you? Enough to hurt those that you love? How about enough to hurt your perception of those that you love? You see, perception is everything. If they're suddenly no longer the ones that you love, it would hurt even more than if you had harmed them in a rage.
Is it right to substitute ANGER for FEAR? How about SORROW? REMORSE? EMPATHY? Is the overwhelming desire to hurt someone else a true substitute for feeling the other emotions? Is it true strength? Or just new weakness?
Is it right to substitute OBSESSION for LOVE? You think about it every waking moment, never wanting to let one second pass without it for fear that you might lose the only thing you hold dear. Is it right to latch on to something so totally and completely, that LOVE, HAPPINESS, JOY; everything you hold dear is somehow connected to what you've latched on to? Is it tunnel-vision; narrow-mindedness? Or is it passion, dedication, diligence like nothing else?
In the end, your anger and your obsession will get the better of you. Everything that you held dear, that you were obsessed with, that you loved like nothing else, will fall away. Everything. Everything that you wanted to keep, everything that you kept pursuing to the point of ignoring all else will fail you, will turn on you. But everything that you hated, that you neglected, that you didn't even wish to touch, will remain. In the end, all that will remain are your hatred, your anger. The fruit of the fields pass away in a year, but wrath burns strong eternal.
There is no love, only obsession. There is no fear, only wrath.
