Foodis Gratis
The past few weeks I've been looking forward to Thursday, May 26th because of a certain poster that's been hanging in the elevator here at work. The main points detailed on the poster were simply:
-May 26th, at noon
-Conference room
-Summer Students
-Free Pizza
-Refreshments
So today I walk into the conference room at noon and there, right in front of me, are 26 BOXES OF EVERY KIND OF PIZZA IMAGINABLE! And next to that, FREE POP!!! There were some other summer students there too, I think. Whatever.
So, as I indulged myself in the foodis gratis, somebody at the front of the room started talking...and my glee was suddenly replaced by horror as I realized that IT WAS A TRAP.
Apparently, Summer Students here are expected to participate in this program wherein we have to attend June seminars put on by ourselves and our peers where we give 15 minute presentations about our projects. Then, at the end of the summer we have to write a 500 word report describing our work and what we've learned, with references and charts and graphs and the WHOLE 9 SCIENTIFIC YARDS. And we students will do it, every last bit of it in addition to our separate work duties because we all feel guilty for eating their god damned pizza.
With my last breath, I curse Greg, the Summer Student Coordinator.
