Soup. Soup is good for me right now.

I woke up feeling a bit on the sick side today, which is also considered the 'wrong side' of the bed. So I have immediately started an emergency campaign against all foreign invaders! Consuming the soup of chicken noodles! Lots of Vitamin C! Immunity boosters! And (hopefully!) plenty of rest tonight.

I can't really get sick right now and miss work - they're counting on me. My colleague is away on vacation...again...for two weeks. If neither of us is there, then nobody around will know how to perform certain functions. They might be able to survive, but you'd be surprised what you can live through.

But really. Why should I care? If they can survive, it's fine. Most of those jerks don't give a crap about me. They don't care how much they inconvenience me by not staying organized. They don't pay attention to what they're doing, no matter how many times we ask or how many errors we issue - they don't have to put in the work to correct things.

Why do I try so hard anyway?

I don't know. I guess I just like to be professional. I like to be seen as capable and reliable.

And I definitely don't like being sick.
