My day in short: Flood victims; some good, some unhappy, some great.
Birthday for teammate ("special" Ed). Go Ed! Happy 39th. Teammate Doug jumps out of novelty cake half-naked in the basement of Pentecostal church in an effort to celebrate said birthday. Much hilarity. Pictures to follow.

FTR, Doug is a fiftyish ex-Navy officer. He's about 5'2" and BRILLIANT in interviews. He jumped out of the cake for our amusement. I must admit, I was *very* amused.

Me and Doug talk to the media tomorrow, I think. Look ma, I'm on TV!

We're visiting the town school tomorrow afternoon to give a talk about how the Red Cross is going to help rebuild the community and explain what we do all over the world....

And the new slogan for Red Cross 2003?

From Badger to Baghdad. Sounds about right to me. Judy is a graphic design specialist so she's gonna draw up some nifty little logos we can put on T-shirts and we'll get Marcel to print them in a shop near his usual workplace. Should be pretty neat... we're all sharing some really good experiences here. The community, for the most part, is pleased with how things are going. Frustrations run high in some areas because of the government's slowness in handing out money, but that's to be expected (unfortunately).

I miss you all. Be well. I'll keep the updates coming.
