Scott for Sith Lord

Apr 05, 2011 16:05

I've got a new campaign friends and I think it's a real doozie.

A couple of months ago I started noticing that Florida's Governor, Rick Scott, was displaying Sith tendencies; he's aggregating power and disenfranchising his base. I probably first noticed this when he pissed off all of the police in the state by cutting $1B from the prison system and eliminating benefits for fallen officers. Is Rick Scott letting criminals go free and marginalizing the police so that he can create a new army to fight them both thus unifying the state of Florida under Scott allowing him to destroy the Jedi? I don't know I haven't thought this argument out yet.

Conjecture aside the idea that Scott is the Sith Lord came back to me today after reading the article Kelly posted about the education reforms enacted and other miscellaneous acts of usurping power (unlimited power!). Since many facets of the new legislation seem counter to the goal of the public education system (educating) I would posit that Scott does not want these Padawan learners to learn, at least not from the Galactic Alliance.

So I propose the following:

Rick Scott is the Sith Lord Darth Idious.

I will take notes on all six Star Wars bio-pics with respect to Senator Palpatine/ Darth Sidious and I will need you to provide me with all relevant news and background about our beloved Governor. I will compare notes and evaluate if the argument holds- I know it will.

Or I will read the Senator Palpatine Wikipedia entry, watch the last three Star Wars movies, and compare the Wiki article to whatever Andy tells me.
