Today I have to register my daughter for 10th grade!  We get their registration packets in the mail so most parents send their HS kids to registration by themselves.  I'm out of the norm in going with my kids to registration.  I only have a few years left with them to do these mothery things so I want to take advantage.  Though when I took my son last week, it was kinda ridiculous because between the travel time (from work, home, school, home, work which is like 1 hour) and registration it almost took me 4 hours!  4 hours in the hot, hot sun!  I learned though, today we're going the last 30 mins reg. is open so I'm hoping it works in my favor :)

My son gets his braces off next month so last night we were talking about how great that'd be etc.  He had 3 friends over and they were all playing xbox when all of a sudden he comes to me with his tongue all twisted and says he thinks there's a serious problem.  I still can't figure out how he did it, but you know that little thin skin piece under your tongue that connects it to your mouth?  he had it stuck on one of his brackets!  So, his tongue was wrapped over his teeth and stuck to the brackets.  I gave him a piece of ice, told him to numb and that he'd basically have to yank it out.  I could hear him kinda freaking out and crying that it hurt, but there just isn't enough room in his mouth for my hands and when you're dealing with bracket issues, it's really easiest to deal with it on your own...I know from experience :)  Anyway, thank God my girlfriend was over because she told me to give him the anbesol, numb it up and that she'd try to untwist it.  Anbesol worked, untwisting didn't so I told him to numb it up, count to 3 and just pull.  Which he did ~ we heard this yelp and then I did it!  It was cute, all his friends went running into the bathroom asking if he was ok, did he want water etc...  Come to find out the reason he was freaking out so badly was that he thought it was a vein and he was scared to rip it...poor guy. These are the times that remind me he's my baby boy :)

Today I was actually up for about 40 mins before I started feeling sick, so we're making progress I think!
