This was my first official weekend following my first week of work. I'd just like to say that I wish I didn't have to work, but since we decided that I should, that I like the job I have at least. I'm basically doing the same thing, but with more perks. Like, my own big office, 4 weeks of vacation, a lot of holidays and really nice people to work with. So....I'm now an official working woman again. And, I'm leaving Mon. for my first "business" trip so hopefully that goes well. Other down side...I've had to buy new work clothes. It's not that I don't like to go shopping, but I'd like to buy stuff I can wear more often and not just to work and church. My old job clothing of jeans, tshirt and flipflops won't cut it for this company. That was the best thing about my job before I was a SAHM for the last year, I never had to dress up!
I don't like to travel by myself, I can't sleep in hotels, so this means that for 3 days next week I will be getting like 3 hours of sleep a night. It's brutal. Cool thing is that I'll actually be seeing people I used to work with like 5 years ago...everyone's moved on and now by chance we'll be working together next week, just for different companies.
Martha Stewart Magazine...my subscription is up and I can get a free one for someone. None of my friends read it, someone want one? It's free, so let me know and I'll add you as my friend to my renewal.
Ummmm...my sister and her kids have moved in for the most part. Along with their dog and guinea pig. Like the guinea, but we're all allergic and since one of my dogs would love to bust her out of her cage and "hunt" her, she is currently living on top of the computer armoire in the living room so we can't get away from the fur and hay. Their dog was really good when he lived at their house but we are starting to think that he's kinda dumb and are having a hard time with him. He's 1/2 rottie and 1/2 who knows what and just doesn't get that he can't jump on the chihuahua no matter how many times he's reprimanded for it. I'm scared that one day I'm going to come home from work and my baby is going to be laying on the ground with a broken back. But, with all that my nieces and nephews are going through, I just don't have the heart to tell them that they can't bring their pets. I am just counting on my older, bigger dog who is the alpha dog to keep their dog in line. It's actually funny because when he's just being a pain and won't stop chasing my little dogs she'll start barking at him and chasing him away from them. Luckily, he hasn't tried to fight for her position because she's an old dog and would definitely lose her spot. So, everyone pray that he'll soon start to behave because that couldn't happen soon enough!
DH has been working out of town for the last couple of months and been coming home for 1 weekend a month. Because he doesn't get paid unless he works, he hasn't been able to spend more than a weekend at home because of the money but now that I'm working he can stay longer. So to celebrate our birthdays (they're 1 week apart), he's coming home for 9 days later this month...yay!!! I'm trying to find somewhere close to home to get away for the weekend that won't cost an arm and leg but it looks like it's not going to happen. Since we're losing almost 2 weeks of his pay, plus the cost of his plane ticket I need to keep the costs down. Especially since I want pearl earrings for my birthday and want to get him another watch for work, so that's another couple of hundred dollars. Anyone got a favorite spot close to San Diego that we could go to for the weekend?
Ok, off to get some more laundry done before my trip. Along with all my housecleaning. And, time to celebrate, I finally bought an iron so now I can go to work with crisp clothes!
