This weekend, I found out that a comic shop in town called Warp 1 (made famous by really
pissing off Nathan Fillion) was having a going-out-of-business sale in which every last thing in the store was 50% off.
As you might imagine, my mouth was watering.
At the end of the weekend, I had picked up The Flash: Rogue War, JLA: The Nail, Manhunter Volume 1, Showcase Presents Haunted Tank, and Formerly Known as the Justice League. There was more that I wanted, but. . . a line must be drawn at some point. It's half-off, but I'm still not made of money.
I've already finished The Nail (which was good, if a little bit too "1998" for my tastes), but the rest is on hold until I finish The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. So far on K&C, even though I'm only a scant 40-something pages in to it, I can see why it won the fricking Pulitzer. Really compelling stuff.
