The Rufus Wainwright concert was spiff-tacular. Went with Vinni and Peter who, although they didn't know each other, go to the same school, and I think, they got along great. I didn't care much for the opening act, Jill Stevenson, though. Her songs kind of blended together, and her diction was lost in the mic. That's one thing I like - good mic diction. It's hard.
Nevertheless, Rufus just got even more awesome. His diction was really clear, and he was better technically on the instruments (although why the tech guy kept making him switched guitars, I was confused). His voice is a bit nasal for my tastes, but he's got really nice lyrics. And, he's just a good entertainer with a fun personality that's more than "I'm going ot stand up here and sing my songs" but "I'm going to engage the audience a bit". He was also honest when he messed up, starting songs over again and admitting when he forgot the words to the old songs we got him to play for the encore. His sister wasn't too good, though - she alcked the singing confidence to match Rufus, so it was like, a child's descant line over his music. Oh, does anyone know if he's gay? He talked about "being vegetarian" but then "unable to resist the sausages" from his trip to Europe. *coughcough*
Then, did a WaWa run and headed back to Vinni's sweet and huge apartment, which just so happened to be cheaper than the shitty dorm room that I have which is smaller than Peter's double room in his six-person suite. We watched the first four episodes of Gravitation. I like it for its cute characters and emotional storyline, but it's not as intellectually engaging as I usually like my anime to be. Then, I did another WaWa run for gummi bears. Peter also promised to teach me to ride a bike.
Oh, haha, something more exciting. I got the following comment on Tokyopop referring to
this picture (linked the DA version because TP sucks):
"Eeww.... How about two girls. You can draw good. If I
wasn't lazy and half ass doing stuff right now I'd be
competeing with you. "
Right. And his stuff is like
this. Normally I don't say I'm better than people, damn, I hope I'm better than that.
Eric and Staci and Elaine are all coming tomorrow - I mean, later today, it being 2 AM. I am happy. I ought to sleep.
