I've had two VAIOs, one laptop and one desktop, and they both worked perfectly for years (until I spilled coffee on the laptop...). Never had any trouble with them and I'd definitely buy one again if I could afford it. I loved the screen so much that I bought two Sony LCD monitors for my current desktop, which is a Dell hand-me-down from Sean (still functioning near-perfectly after four years, despite heavy usage for computer animation).
Ah, I remember the coffee spill -read about in in your LJ. Strawberry was its name?... yeah, I suppose if I don't do what Brooke dows - that is, down load way more illegal programs than is health - I should be good. But I've checked both now, and Dell's cheaper than VAIO. XD;
Oh, really? That's great news since I'm going into computer animation, too.
