Merit Badge Folder

Many collectors will tell you they got their start in the numismatic world through the Boy Scouts coin collecting merit badge. The merit badge folder offered by Wizard Coin Supply is ideal for the Boy Scout who wants to earn this special badge. A perfect introduction into the world of coin collecting, boys earning this badge must be able to explain common terminology, grading terms, and tour a United States Mint facility, as well as start his own collection. The Whitman folder for coin collecting is designed specifically with the Boy Scout in mind, with all of the necessary information needed to earn the merit badge, plus slots to collect the required coins.

For those attending the FUN show you can purchase the Merit Badge Folder and other tools of the trade from Wizard Coin Supply of CHANTILLY, VA.

2010 Boy Scouts Commemorative Coins

The Coin Designs
The obverse (heads side) design depicts a Cub Scout in the foreground with a Boy Scout and female Venturer in the background saluting. Inscriptions are CONTINUING THE JOURNEY, 1910, 2010, IN GOD WE TRUST and LIBERTY. This design represents the Boy Scouts of America of today, as the organization has recognized the need to include other programs for younger boys (cub scouts) and older boys and girls (venturers), reflecting the great diversity of our nation. It is a dramatic representation of how the Boy Scouts of America has evolved over the past century to form a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for all the youth of America.

The reverse (tails) design features the Boy Scouts of America's universal emblem. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, BE PREPARED, E PLURIBUS UNUM and ONE DOLLAR.

Attention Girl Scouts

The ratio of Boy Scouts to Girl Scouts at the FUN Show is surely lacking, 99% to 1%? I would like to correct that by encouraging more Girl Scouts to get involved in coin collecting. C'mon! It isn't just for boys! There are Women in Numismatics. Make it The Hobby of Kings Queens!

If you are reading this journal entry and are interested in earning a merit badge for coin collecting, why not send your scout leader a link to THIS post. Let them know about F.U.N's Coin Collecting Merit Badge program. Lets make sure to show some Girl Power at the next merit badge clinic.
