The show was at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center in north Atlanta. The cab fare from the airport was $70. The weather was cold at 28 degrees Fahrenheit when we landed. It was 35 the next day and was up to 60 degrees on Saturday.

The hotel was great, the convention center was big, and the food was reasonable. The show was open to the public on Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m., Friday was 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday was 10a.m. to 4 p.m.. Admission was $6 for non-ANA members and it was free admission on Saturday. Saturday drew the largest crowds.

There were 287 dealer booths manned by 500 dealers. The exhibit area was small. There was a "Kid's Corner," the ANA traveling museum had the 1804 silver dollar, the 1913 Liberty nickel and more. Kagin's had samples of the gold coins recently found in northern California. The rusted tins looked like 12 oz cups with lids. There were several educational programs throughout the show. U.S. Treasurer Rosie Rios was signing $1 bills. Heritage had the auction.

Cindy Wibker, Bob Hurst and I manned the FUN table giving out candy and FUN medals, pins, lanyards and show information. Saturday I attended the ANA District Representative meeting. Cindy judged exhibits and hit every table with bourse apps for Summer FUN. We purchased many exhibit prizes for our January show.

It was a nice show but time went by fast and before you knew it, it was over. It was announced at the show that the March 2017 ANA National Money Show will be in Orlando.

Treasury Display "Shows You The Money" At Cobb Galleria
ATLANTA You've seen a $1 bill. You've seen a $20 bill. Most of us have even seen a $100 bill. But what if you reached in your wallet...and pulled out a $100,000 note?? Well, we can't promise that. But you can see one this weekend at the National Money Show at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The show is sponsored by the American Numismatic Association, and is on display from February 27th to March 1st. Along with the $100,000 denomination bill (which is the largest bank note ever printed by the United States government), visitors can see a $2.5 million rare nickel and even silver dollar worth $4 million!

Hoard of Gold Coins the Main Attraction at Money Show
Part of a $10 million gold-coin cache dug out of the ground by a California couple who noticed a rusty can while walking their dog went on public display for the first time at a currency show in Atlanta on Thursday.

The hoard, which includes a single Double Eagle valued at around $1 million itself, was clearly the main attraction as the National Money Show opened for a three-day run.

A small chunk of the change was shown at the booth for Kagin's, the dealer the owners contacted after they stumbled upon the buried treasure - a total of 1,427 coins minted between 1847 and 1894 - a year ago. Continue Reading At The Source
