Fort Lauderdale Coin Club

Club History: In 1955 a group of active coin collectors and dealers organized the Fort Lauderdale Coin Club. It was incorporated in 1956 as a Non Profit Corporation in the State of Florida. Today the club is one of the most active coin clubs in South Florida with over 250 members. Meeting attendance is usually around 50 People. A brief program is the "norm" for the meetings followed by a large auction. The auction, which is held every meeting, is very active with a good selection or cross-section of numismatic material.

Club meets on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of each month.

Upcoming Event: Club Picnic is April 5th

Upcoming meetings: February 27, Mar 13 & 27, April 10 & 24

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the meeting Starts 7:15 PM - Visitors Welcome

Volunteer Park Center
12050 West Sunrise Boulevard
Plantation, Florida (Near Sawgrass Mall)

Community Out Reach - Young Numismatist Fund sponsored by the Fort Lauderdale Coin Club
(taken from the website) As members may know, Richard Anderson, Ossie Mair and Steve Schor give freely of their time to attend events sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America, Learning for Life and Local Public Schools. At these events, foreign coins and numismatic literature are given freely to the children that attend the events and to school libraries. During the last thirteen years our membership has supported this effort to promote the numismatic hobby by donating unwanted lesser foreign coins and numismatic literature.

Those members who wish to continue to support these efforts are encouraged to donate their unwanted items at club meetings or shows. Please see Richard, Ossie or Steve who will gladly accept any donations. At the first meeting of the new year, your donation will be acknowledged to the membership.

Many thanks to all those who donate. It is much appreciated by the children, teachers and organizations who invite us back each year.
