59th Annual FUN Convention

Florida United Numismatists, Inc., is hosting the 59th Annual FUN Convention in Orlando Florida!

When January 9th through January 12th, 2014

Where The convention will be held at the Orange County Convention Center West Concourse

Event Location: Hall E, West Concourse

Hours Of Operation The convention opens to the public at 10:00 A.M. Thursday January 9th and will run through 3:00 P.M. Sunday January 12th.

Numismatic dealers from around the country will converge at the Orange County Convention Center to buy, sell and appraise coins, paper currency, tokens, medals and other items. Make sure to mark your calendar for this great event.

7:30-8:30 AM Fellowship of Christian Coin Dealers Non-denominational Christian worship service. Public welcome. Room W330C.

8:30-10:00 AM Society of Silver Dollar Collectors board meeting. Room W330A. The Society of Silver Dollar Collectors is the premier collector organization dedicated to the study of Morgan and Peace Silver Dollar varieties.

8:30-10:00 AM Liberty Seated Collectors Club meeting. Room W232B
The Liberty Seated Collectors Club is a group of over six hundred collectors and dealers dedicated to the study and attribution of the American silver Liberty Seated coinage of the 19th century. The Gobrecht Journal is the official publication of the club and is published three times each year. Issues are 52 pages in length and are distributed to club members in March, July, and November. Sample articles are available via at the Gobrecht Journal

9:00-10:30 AM John Reich Collectors Society meeting. Room W232A
The purpose of the John Reich Collectors Society (JRCS) is to encourage the study of numismatics, particularly United States gold and silver coins minted before the introduction of the Seated Liberty design, and to provide technical and educational information concerning such coins.

11:00AM-12:30PM Bust Half Nut Club meeting. Room W232A
The Bust Half Nut Club (BHNC) could be best described as a group of individuals whose main interest or specialty is devoted to the collection and study of the early U.S. half dollars minted from 1794 through 1836, commonly called Bust Halves, which were struck at the Philadelphia mint using a hand operated screw press.

1:00-5:00 PM Sunken Treasure Book Club meeting. Room W232B
The purpose of the club is to share information about books and auction catalogs on the topics of shipwreck coins, artifacts, and treasure salvage.

1:30-3:00 PM Flying Eagle & Indian Cent (Fly-In Club) meeting. The topic of discussion and program is “In Depth Look at Indian Cent Counterfeits” by Chris Pilliod. Room W232A

3:00-4:30 PM Barber Coin Collectors Society meeting. Room W232A
Barber Coin Collectors' Society (BCCS) is a group of coin collectors that are interested in the coins designed by Charles E. Barber, Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint from 1879 to 1917. He is best known for his Liberty Head designs on the dime, quarter, and half, as well as the popular Liberty Head (or "V") nickel.

3:00-4:30 PM Love Token Society meeting. Room W330A The Love Token Society promotes collecting and education.

WIN is a nationally incorporated non-profit organization founded in 1991. Membership includes people interested in promoting numismatics among women.

8:30-10:00 AM Blue Ridge Numismatic Association (BRNA) board meeting. Room W330C
The Blue Ridge Numismatic Association is a Regional Coin Club that has a goal of looking forward and working toward the future of numismatics. BRNA is dedicated to educating, encouraging and promoting an interest in numismatics. Look for BRNA Coin Show updates on F.U.N Forums here

8:30-10:00 AM Society of Paper Money Collectors (SPMC) meeting. Room W232B
The Society of Paper Money Collectors is a corporation organized exclusively for educational purposes, and in furtherance of such purposes to promote, stimulate, and advance the study of paper money and other financial documents in all their branches along educational, historical and scientific lines. Don't miss F.U.N Convention TV's video interview with SPMC President Pierre Fricke. Mr. Fricke educates viewers on Confederate Paper Money.

9:00-10:00 AM Women In Numismatics (WIN) general meeting. Guest speaker is Kim Kiick, Executive Director of the American Numismatic Association. Room W232A

9:00-10:00 AM Early American Coppers (EAC) meeting. Room W330A
Early American Coppers (EAC) is a not-for-profit numismatic specialty organization founded in 1967 to serve as a point of contact for collectors of early U.S. copper coins - Colonials, Half Cents, Large Cents, and Hard Time Tokens. Today EAC comprises over 1,200 members located throughout the United States. EAC members are deeply interested in the historical background, attribution, grading, rarity, and related aspects of the early coppers, as well as collecting and trading. Many EAC members are highly knowledgeable and prolific contributors to the numismatic literature of this country.

10:00AM-3:00PM Original Hobo Nickel Society (OHNS) general meeting and auction. Room W330E
If you are interested in hobo nickels, collect them, or simply deal in rare coins, Original Hobo Nickel Society has an array of educational information available. Much of which can only be accessed by joining the club. There are many benefits to becoming an OHNS member, starting with a subscription to BoTales Magazine, their quarterly magazine. Cuban Numismatic Association, was founded on January 9, 2004. The goal of the Association is to encourage, promote and disperse Cuban numismatic knowledge, culture, education and fraternal relations among the numismatic community.

11:00AM-Noon International Banknote Society (IBNS) meeting. Room W232A
The International Bank Note Society (IBNS) was founded in 1961. It operates as a non-profit educational organization and in furtherance of such purpose, its objectives are to promote, stimulate, and advance the study and knowledge of worldwide banknotes and paper currencies and all matters related thereto along educational, scientific and historical lines.
