Anthony Swiatek of Minerva Coins & Jewelry

I met Anthony Swiatek during the 58th Annual F.U.N Convention, six hundred and twelve booths receiving over 15 thousand convention guests during the four-day convention. The bourse floor was humming with conversational noise while dealers happily attended to their fellow collectors and hobbyists. Whenever I dropped by the Minerva Coins & Jewelry booth to request an interview Mr. Swiatek was engaged in conversation with one of the many customers crowding his tables.

When we finally sat down and talked, I was surprised by how kind and generous
Mr. Swiatek was with his time and his critique of his forty years of experience with the F.U.N Organization and its annual Conventions.

He was extremely good humored and fun loving referring to former Vice President Donna Moon as "Moon Over My Miami". As well as singing the praises of Convention Coordinator Cindy Wibker. Anthony is extremely passionate about sharing his time & talents with others. He will be participating in F.U.N's 2014 "Free" Educational Seminars Mr. Swiatek will educate collectors on "How to Collect or Invest Properly in 2014" on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Swiatek, a former A.N.A. President, is considered America’s preeminent expert on U.S. Commemorative coinage. He also authors the award-winning Swiatek Numismatic Report. He believes too many collectors collect the wrong coins. Do not miss this informative lecture. Mr. Swiatek will tell you how to collect the right coins for future fun and profit.

A leading authority in his field, he is past president of the 32,000-member American Numismatic Association and was on its board for 10 years. Handsome display cases feature numerous coins, bills and commemorative articles, including a coin, pin and framed baseball card marking the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson's rookie season in the big leagues -- 1947 -- when he broke baseball's color barrier. Most people have never seen a $1,000 bill. Swiatek has one from 1934. Whose picture is on it? President Grover Cleveland, the only U.S. president elected to two non-consecutive terms.

October 2013 Coin World Commemorative resurrection By Beth Deisher
Excerpt From Article George D. Hatie, then president of the American Numismatic Association, and Anthony Swiatek, a commemorative specialist and author, had been invited to testify by Subcommittee Chairman Frank D. Annunzio, Democrat, of Illinois. Both Hatie and Swiatek had done their homework, and they tapped their professional training to deliver sound and persuasive testimony. Hatie was a lawyer. Swiatek, before becoming a professional numismatist, had been a classroom teacher. Both not only backed the Washington commemorative proposal but also built a powerful case for the resumption of commemorative coinage.
