Sousuke stood with his cellphone in hand, looking out the window of his dorm room as he made his report to his superiors at Mithril. Due to the state of his shoulder, he'd been unable to type, and was thus forced to deliver the information over their secure line.

"Um..." Kaname was suddenly keenly aware of the masculine expanse of bare chest she literally had a face full of. She was also red to the very tips of her ears.

"Sousuke..." She wriggled a bit trying to make this less awkward for herself and failing rather miserably. "If you wanted to cuddle, you could have just said so."

"Hmm?" Yeah. Good luck getting a coherent response out of the boy. His only clear motivation was to stay cuddled up with her there, so he wasn't about to let her move.

Kaname snorted and gave up the struggle. "You big idiot." The most she'd managed was to shift enough so she could stare up into his face like she was doing now.

Well, at least he was relaxing. And he was kind of altogether adorable when he was out of it like this. She reached up and brushed a few wayward strands of hair out of his face. Getting long. She bet he was still using that damn knife to cut it too.

His eyes blinked open at the brush of her fingers, and he proceeded to fix her with a very intent look.

He wasn't so muddled that he didn't feel a certain sense of... privilege. There were feelings and thoughts all locked up inside his head that he just didn't know how to express, especially in his current state.

That made her blush. A lot. Okay, even more than she had been.

"What?" she demanded, fingers lingering where they were.

It was one of those moments where taking her hand in his good one, sitting up enough to close the space between them, and kissing her seemed like a good idea.

So he did, with an unabashedness that wasn't typical for him.

Kaname's eyes went very wide indeed.

Um. Oh. Wow.

Well, that was... nice, actually. Very nice. Her fingers intertwined with his as she eventually just shut her eyes, stopped thinking, and concentrated on enjoying it.

It was probably a good thing she had a hold of his hand. It might have gotten him into trouble, otherwise.

And now she knew why he'd only been taking half the dose of painkillers. Inhibitions? Who needs 'em?

Truly. Kaname would have hated to have to injure him further. That and it would have been a great way to spoil the mood.

There was a little voice at the back of her mind wondering if she ought to be drugging him more often if this was the thanks she got for it. She'd probably feel bad for thinking that later but for now she silenced it by leaning even further into the kiss.

That, he clearly liked, and did his best to encourage her, even if oxygen was getting to be a pressing need.

It was probably a good thing he wasn't likely to remember very much of this later.

A good thing also then that they both had an impressive capacity for holding their breath, hm?

Made bold by the encouragement, Kaname decided to go in for the kill, and nipped very lightly at his bottom lip, urging him on. Too bad she'd have the pleasure of remembering everything the next morning.

He was, apparently, perfectly capable of taking the hint. And if she wondered where he'd learned that particular trick, well. It was just too bad she didn't remember her previous drunken enthusiasm.

Uh... holy shit! Kaname actually let out a muffled squeak when he responded favorably. Not that she minded of course but she hadn't really been expecting him to do that.

At least... not so enthusiastically! And how was it that he was so good at it anyway? She was so shocked she even forgot to keep up her end of the kiss for a second or few there. Finally her hand squeezed his slightly and she recovered enough to kiss him back.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end eventually, and breathing wasn't optional. But the kiss was followed by him murmuring something as he shifted his attention to the crook of her neck. It didn't quite hold the weight of an 'I love you,' but it was clearly an endearment of some sort. Not that he'd bothered to say it in either language she actually understood.

"A-ah!" Her hand released his and went instinctively to thread through his hair. "Sousuke!" Definitely breathing a little heavier now, yes. "What's gotten into you?" she murmured, not exactly making any move to stop him but not entirely at ease either.

He paused what he was doing to look at her. "I should stop?" At least he was back in familiar language territory.
