Fumo Returns

Oh yeah... I have a blog. How 'bout them apples...

Two months since I've done a real entry (I don't count the 5 song thing), but to be honest, it's been an interesting couple of months. A lot has been bouncing around my mind over the summer, which is one of the main reasons that I haven't been posting. I didn't want to just be throwing up repetative stuff in a mellow-ish kind of tone. Those posts are never fun to read, especially when it seems like it's the same thing over and over again. One of the main things that's been clouding up my mind finally stated to start to move on this week, so I'm hoping that now I can start to move on to new things to think about.

Where to begin? I guess with the obvious... I JUMPED OUT OF A FRICKIN' AIRPLANE! I never would have thought in May that I'd be able to say that by the end of the summer, but I guess things can change fast.

Been working at Motorola, and let me tell you, I guess my perception of what a 40-hour week would be was a little off. 8 hour days, EVERY day is a lot longer than I thought it was going to be, but I've grown to adjust to it as the summer's gone by. It's hard to believe that it's coming to a close though; only 2 weeks out of 12 are remaining, then back to Urbana a week after that ends.

It seems like everybody is already getting in the mood to go back. I keep reading about and talking to people that are appartment and dorm shopping, freshmen excited about find out who their roommates are, people talking about exactly when they're moving back, what's going on between the time we go back and classes start... wow... and to think in just under a month we'll be back in the classroom.

I am glad that I've gotten to see a bunch of school people over the summer though. Been down to DG a couple of times and had people over here, so that's been good, but I'm looking forward to going back and being with people all the time and not just once every few weeks. But hey, cell phones (haha... both calling and texting) and IM have served us well...

Sorry to put up such a hodge-podge post, but honestly, it's mainly to get myself back into the posting habit. Thanks to all of my friends that have made this summer what it has been (both in actually doing stuff and just willing to talk), and hopefully we can make the most out of what's left...
