Back to Life...Back to Reality

I'm back from FR. I honestly don't remember the last time I updated. Life has been such a blur.

FR was awesome, but nearly as relaxing as I'd hoped it'd be. Between the rain/mud, then the scorching sun (and ensuing slight sunburn), then the thunder storm, then the tornado warnings, and having problems with my sciatic for the first time ever (oww!!), it was a lot of up and down. Awesome music, great friends. Not a lot of down time (hauling stuff up to camp because we couldn't drive up, going on a hike which was awesome but less than down time-ish, frantically checking my iphone at 2 am because I thought my tent was going to blow away with me inside it...).

Now I'm back, working another overtime week. It's good because I desperately need the money (and in fact, if I don't get to full time in the next month or so, I'm going to have to start looking for a second job that pays more because as much as I LOVE my job and am so so happy and would love to advance a bit, I just can't live for much longer on what I'm making right now.), but it's also bad because I am getting slightly burned out. In a 7 day period this week (monday-monday) I'm working 56 hours. And that's not counting the hour lunch I take every day. So I'm at work for 63 hours this week, and they've asked me to stay longer. When we all first started working overtime, I didn't mind it. but if I'm going to be working more than 50 hours a week for multiple weeks in a row, I need to leave when I'm done or I will go insane. We're also opening now at 8 am, so this week I've had to be there at 7:30 every day, meaning I leave my house at 6:45. meaning I get up at 6. meaning it's 9:30 now and almost time for bed. ew.

School: I need to call tomorrow, but I think I've decided to defer. If I only take 1 class (which with all I've been working feels a bit much to do even that) I am not eligible for financial aid. I'd have to take out private bank loans, which feels unwise. I'm going to call tomorrow and find out what the deferment fee is, and if it's reasonable (under $100), I'll do it. I heard through the grapevine that there's some sort of tuition reimbursement program for full time employees, but I need to a.) find out more and b.) actually be full time. But perhaps if I defer, that could happen before spring semester, and I'd certainly hope before next fall. I'm also considering looking at a few other schools.

Coming up: Next weekend: Kyle and Erica's Wedding! yay! I'm so excited for this. They're awesome friends, and I'm so glad to have gotten to know them in this last year. Should be super fun times, and I got both friday and saturday off so I'll have no issues staying the night.
Weekend after that: Maryland! kris and tracie and I are going to maryland to stay at kris's aunt's house. We are leaving on a Thursday night, and we're going to stay until Sunday night. This weekend I expect will be full of much lazing around, and be the truly relaxing vacation that I need.

The End.

P.S. I am babysitting for my favorite little girls on Saturday. They went away for a month and then I got insane working and I haven't seen them in forever! I can't wait!
