Kumbh Mela is a 2000-year-old tradition occuring once every 12 years that attracts hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world. Spiritual leaders (including the Dalai Lama), artists, musicians, philosophers, and acolytes gather to teach, learn, and feel the ecstasy of enlightenment. The climax, the ritual bath in the Ganges, is supposed to purify pilgrims so completely as to assure them a place in heaven. (SND)

Note: 100% of the opening night proceeds benefit tsunami relief efforts.
