Again?!

May 08, 2004 23:19

During the period before choir, on Friday, Pastor Jackson visited class. He walked in and I knew exactly what he was about to do.

P. Jackson: Kouya, are you going to promless?

Me: No

P. Jackson: Why not?

Me: I don't want to. (Arrrrrrrgh!)

So I ended the conversation there. Any arguments? I think not.

People agree, " don't want to" works.

Although he asks a lot of questions...and seldomly takes no for an answer. He has the right heart. If you don't want to go...tell him straight. I think its awesome that the church and him will give scholarships to people for things like promless night. Anywhere else you go, they wouldn't give you a penny just to go and have a good time. You guys need to think about Pastor Jackson's motives behind his questions, instead of always dogging him.

YOU'RE RIGHT and I did tell him straight which I am proud of. It's a huge privelege that Jackson gets to offer funds and ways to get someone to attend an E-way event. I already know Jackson's intent and motivation. I'm not as blind as you all percieve me to be. Please stop victimizing. Look, I love that youth pastor. I never dogged him. He's just OVERLY CONCERNED. Not all of us are the baby Christians you say we are. We don't need to be baby fed because that's what they're treating us like at E-way, like babies. I'm sure I'm the only one who feels this way, but maybe everyone else just likes being spoon fed every single thing. I have good parents and do not plan on having a second or third set of them anywhere. So, if I say I'm not going to promless then in consideration, should they take a no for a no. If I need fund I KNOW I can always depend on the generous ways of E-way.

Why do you feel like your being babied? Because he always asks you to go to events. All of Pastor Jackson's sermons are filled with truth. You can leave eWay and I won't say anything else if you can truthfully tell me that nothing that Pastor Jackson says from that platform is God given truth that the Youth of this generation need to hear.

David, I shouldnn't have said that I was being babied. I forgot how voicing my opinions can offend people.

But here it is: Yes, I believe that what Pastor Jackson preaches is the truth so long as it's from the Bible.

See? Strange how I am agreeing with you. That's because you're arguing about a totaly different thing! I'm talking about Jackson being overly concerned. He cares too much. Maybe he's really going for the Jesus spot. But like all concerned parents, you've got to let them kids all go around on their own for awhile.

I see what you're talking about. Maybe some of the whiners DON'T think what Pastor Jackson is preaching, is truth. What I disagree with is when you say "need to hear". Like I stated earlier, I don't need to be told about tithing over and over and over...I already disapproved the one-tenth issue and made it clear that 100% of a man's income should belong to God.

The pace setters. fullycooly May 9 2004, 17:00:14 UTC
Another thing. I disagree with the pace setters. I know you all worked really really hard in the beginning, but it all came down to being an exclusive clique. Now, I don't want to told again, that I haven't seen the "behind the scenes" of the pace setter group and be reduced to an insensitive fool.

I have a great idea. Actually, I stole it from this book I found called the Holy Bible. It says that we should ALL be pace setters. I mean, now that we're ALL pace setters, what's the point of a little club with designated pace setters. We should have all the the pace setters, which would be everyone, set the pace for each other. Worship together, sing together, learn the word together, praise together, and go to exiting church events together!

I'll call it the congregation. I'll seperate them into groups of age and/or sex, like a youth group and women's ministry. Now, doesn't that sound like an original fool-proof plan?

there is no such thing as eWAY pacesetters anymore...they have been disbanded. And I agree with their recall from duty. :)

It's cooly. I figured you weren't responding because you went to church. That was my signal.
