Backstory: Born in Austria, his first job was that of a detective before he joined the German military (thus becoming an 'Austro-German') and while in the military, was wrangled by a neo-Nazi branch to track down Jews. Though not a man who believed in Nazi ideology, he accepted and ventured the task (going from Colonel status to Standartenführer) while also becoming a combat veteran. He served in the military for years up until a group of American Jews called 'the Basterds' infiltrated France, where a large portion of Nazis (as well as Landa) were stationed, to erraticate all anti-Jew members of the military. As 'history dictates', the American and British military that affiliated with the Basterds grouped Landa into 'Operation Kino', a mission to group all of the major heads of the Nazi branch into a cinema in France where they were all locked in before the building was set fire to, leaving the patrons to die within. Apparently, for Landa's great service, he was given US citizenship, the Congressional Medal of Honour, and land on Nantucket Island. (Though strangely, he adopted at some point between the success of Operation Kino and debriefing the following day, a swastika carved into his forehead, only something that the Basterds ever did to surviving Nazis they captured. Since then, to conceal the scar from the event, he wears various hats, mostly the same one from his military days. When asked about it, Landa merely diverts from the question.)
Sometime after his short lived 'retirement' in Eastern America, he took up detective services again but to no avail, then looked into behavioural sciences before pursuing that as a profession. Eventually, he hearned a doctorate in the subject, and worked here and there as a consultant at local hospitals, but looking for more 'serious, long term' potential job opportunities, discovered Gale Psychiatric and Rehab in close-by Pennsylvania. He speaks four fluent langauges: his native 'Austro-German', English, French, and Italian.
He also loves strudel and milk. Preferably together.
Writing Sample: Landa nearly glided across the cafeteria from the payment line, his always smug, pleased smile explicably present as he spotted a table to claim. By now the feeling of eyes following him where ever he ventured in the hospital was commonplace, knowing well by now that they were actually following his always reliable hat; was it all that strange to wear a hat indoors? Well, if they made better products for scar treatment, the hat wouldn't be necessary.
A small table across next to the wall-length double-paned windows was vacant, and Landa parked his plastic food tray on the linoleum-lined table top before seating himself. Humming an old German tune to himself ("Ein Männlein Steht Im Walde" to be exact), he popped open the plastic container where his breaktime snack lay within, opened the small bottle of milk, took a sip, then went to address the strudel with his knife and fork before pausing once he /finally/ looked at it. He frowned.
"Typischen," 'Typical,' he mumbled in German, "Sie sind vergessen die Rahm wieder." 'They are forgetting the cream again.'
