Tragedy (AU RP)
Julian stood stiffly in the kitchen, his ear throbbing as he pushed the phone harder to it, desperately trying to hear words over the hammering of his heart. After the words 'Nicolas' and 'car', which had come after "I'm afraid we have some bad news", Julian had heard hardly any of the specifics. All he knew was that Nicolas was hurt, and he had to go to the hospital right now.
Someone was still speaking on the other line, and in an attempt to avoid being rude, Julian laid the phone down on the counter and turned away, moving to grab up his jacket and head out the door. In the end, it was a wonder Julian didn't have his own accident as he sprinted toward the hospital, as heedless of his surroundings as he was.
Once he finally got there, sucking in painful breaths and demanding to see Nicolas Elric, he was escorted to a room where he found the blonde boy laying unconcious and looking horribly small in the hospital bed, and he burst into tears as he moved to Nick's side and reached out to carefully touch his hand.
"Oh god... Nick..."
