Title: Public Personas (Part Un)
Author:
aislinoriel Rating: PG-13 (OMO. Just some cussing.)
Summary: Jiyong talks about dishing out tough love and girls, and Seunghyun didn't coin the term canoodling, though he does like to use it. GTOP. (Plus! Bonus nearly-ninja!GIRL-GTOP. Or whatever the name for CL & Dara is...LOL.)
Genre: Humour/Romance/Fluff
Characters: G-Dragon/T.O.P, CL/Dara
Author Notes: I am still alive!!! Also. Strong biases are strong. I have a 2NE1 OTP, and it was pretty much fated. I find CL & Dara to be ador(k)able together, and was instantly like omgfemaleGTOPwtffangirlingensues when they debuted...So this might result in a sequel, since this was so short and the plunny is already bouncing around in my head. ^^;;
“Uh...isn't that a bit hypocritical?” Seunghyun asked as they sat in a secluded restaurant.
“I don't see how it is,” Jiyong dismissed him and took another swig of his lemon soju.
“Really,” he laughed humourlessly.
That morning, Jiyong had been called in by the management team to discuss some matters regarding his dongsaengs of 2NE1.
Being that he had a large hand in producing them and was highly looked up to by them as sunbae, they felt that he should be the best person to broach such an issue. He was seen amongst the management as wise and mature to a fault. Natural choice.
They didn't know the other side of him that was unwise and completely reckless like a teenager.
But that was neither here nor there, in his opinion.
See, someone from management saw...some 'canoodling' as termed by Seunghyun flippantly, between one of the oldest and youngest members in private. So they had swiftly decided that Jiyong was to speak to them about the importance of keeping the unspoken no-inter-group relationships policy - and hopefully wouldn't have to get into the obvious topic of same-gender scandals - all fanservice and skinship aside. They needed to know that media would always be playing at that and that in no way could it ring true.
“I'll talk to Chaerin tomorrow...” He decided that having a leader-to-leader chat would be the most gentle yet firm way of handling it. Also, though Sandara was older, his noona even, she was also a lot younger in many ways. She could get really shy and quiet and his intention wasn't to scare her. He was close to CL, so he thought it would go best that way. Nip this thing in the bud to begin with.
“Yah. You don't think it's ironic that you are going to be the one telling them they can't have anything going on?” Seunghyun pulled his glass away before he could go for it again, in an attempt to pull his attention back to the blatant hypocrisy he was implying.
Jiyong just opted on drinking straight from the bottle like it was nothing. “It's a different thing entirely. Right now they're just starting out. This kind of thing can set the dynamics all wrong and divert their energy away from their success. They need to focus more on their image and less on hormones from being pent up together.”
Seunghyun scoffed. “I can't believe it. That's really funny shit, coming from you...” he shook his head, taking a big gulp of his own drink to try and calm his fury slowly beginning to bubble beneath the surface. “So. Then what. You'll tell them to cool it, until they're more established in the industry? Is that it?”
“We weren't together when we started out, and that's one of the reasons I think we've gotten so far, and it works now.” Jiyong said, matter-of-factly.
“Wow. I wish I weren't such a mere mortal and could see into the workings of that genius-mind of yours. Because it all sounds like bullshit to me.”
“Whatever. They just don't know what they're getting into...they're young, and emotional, and female. I'll handle it well. Don't worry.”
“You make it sound so damn easy, don't you Ji? Well, need I remind you, young and emotional and female describes just about every girl in existence. You're cutting a whole demographic out of love.”
“Who said they're in love?”
“Che. Ji, you fucking idiot...”
“What the hell. What, you think they are?” Jiyong raised an eyebrow and leaned in close across the table.
“You really need to pay better attention. And look into your own actions as well.”
“Aish...forget it hyung. Anyway...if YG's heard about it, the only thing is to get it taken care of before he has to.”
That silenced Seunghyun. He didn't need to be reminded of YG's 'talks'. If he didn't get involved it would be much more painless.
“I'll just talk to her, if you really think so, I'll leave them alone after that.” Jiyong sighed, “I do admit that I sympathize with them. So I'll...just tell her to be more discreet.”
“Uh-huh.” Seunghyun finished his drink.
“What?”
“You're really gonna leave 'em alone? Not crush them with your overbearing words and their ultimate respect for you?”
Jiyong's eyebrow twitched as he refilled Seunghyun's glass habitually, somehow managing not to spill a drop. “You speak like I'm some sort of monster...”
Seunghyun sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “I know you aren't...just...go easy on them. Try to think more of us when you think of them.”
Two days later, pictures surfaced of GD and CL in the same intimate venue, sitting very close and conversing deeply. The netizens were all over it.
“Ah great, now they think you two are canoodling.” Seunghyun sighed.
Jiyong just laughed.
