I already explained in a previous entry that one must weigh their fruits and vegetables here in France. I think that this is so 20th century and now I have another convincing reason why the system needs to be changed.
Yesterday, I was in line to weigh my bananas. The key to making the process as easy as possible is looking at the number for your produce when you put it in the bag and memorizing it for the scale...even though there ARE pictures for every number, it can take a while to scan through them.
In any case, I was in line and just wanted to weigh my bananas when suddenly, I was caught in a swarm of older, mostly blind, French people. The one man needed help with his apples, but since he couldn't tell me WHAT kind of apples he had, I just picked one. Then, a lady needed help finding the tomatoes...her face was so close to the buttons that her nose was almost touching them. I'm sure that's good for her health.
So, Simply Market (formerly known as ATAC), if you read this, do a favor for your senior citizens...modernize your produce system!!
