Title: SMSOF
Pairing: 2woo
Rating: R (more for the graphic aspect of it, but I'm sure there is NC-17 on the way)
Genre: supernatural, smut, romance, action, horror
Summary: Dongwoo couldn't just have a normal job like other humans. Hell, he couldn't be normal period. Even with the help of his new hell hound familiar, it was still a hard job being a necromancer, especially with a soul snatcher on the loose praying on humankind that would like nothing more than to take over his body.
Part Five
His feet stalled on stepping over the threshold to his apartment, his mind still reeling. Woohyun had been helping him the whole time and yet he had believed some crazed soul snatching murderer over his own familiar? Even he could admit that was a little fucked up… but picturing how angry Woohyun was going to be when he removed the command? That was almost enough to send him running right back to the academy, but he wouldn’t, and he didn’t, the magical order falling away as his feet fell firmly onto the wooden floor.
He barely had enough time to shut the door and lock it before a menacing growl had him freezing in place.
Turning slowly, he watched in terror as the scene before him unraveled like a B rated horror film. The closet door opened slowly, a creaking noise he’d never noticed before loud in the unusually quiet apartment, glowing red eyes staring out at him from the darkness. He briefly noted that the home phone cord was stretched from its normal living room placement to disappear into the pitch black void that was the coat closet before a very angry -and very naked- Woohyun was jumping out at him.
His feet did their best to bolt him in the other direction, but that only succeeded in making Woohyun tackle him from behind by the legs instead of the front. Not that it mattered, the hellhound flipping him over onto his back before his face was growling mere inches from his own.
“Give me one good reason not to tear you to shreds right now.”
“I’m sorry!” he squeaked, giving wide eyes to Woohyun’s right hand that was growing claws and now poised threateningly above his face.
“That’s not a reason,” he mocked, nails growing sharper.
“Because… because you’ll just go back to being a hellhound if you kill me?”
“Don’t care. Try again.”
“Because,” he thought back to his conversation with Sungjong earlier, “Because you like me…?”
“And we see where that’s gotten me. One last chance,” he growled, baring his overly pointy canines.
When his teeth came that much closer to his face and bit at the air he screamed, “Because I like you too!” eyes squeezing shut as he prayed for a quick and mostly painless death. After a few seconds of no pain, however, he opened his eyes slowly to see Woohyun sitting above him in slight shock, mouth hanging open and eyebrows furrowed to the extreme.
When Dongwoo’s eyes looked up at him uncertainly, Woohyun muttered, “Since when?”
“I don’t know, it just sort of happened naturally…”
The shifter sat back on his haunches, giving Dongwoo quite the view -not that Woohyun cared- before tilting his head to the side, his smile toothy. “Did you actually think I was going to kill you?”
“It seemed like a logical assumption at the time…” Dongwoo grumbled, going to sit up but falling back when Woohyun’s clawed hand pushed him back onto the floor effortlessly.
“It still doesn’t change anything,” he said firmly.
“Like hell it doesn’t!”
“I don’t mean in our relationship, I mean in what you did to me today. You summoned me to be your guardian, your protector, your familiar, I can’t be those things if you leave me behind when you need me the most.”
“You were smothering me… I was angry…” Yet in his head he thought… and I just told the person who wouldn’t leave me alone before that I liked him…? A confession probably wasn't going to help matters.
“Doesn’t matter. You broke a promise. In the underworld I’d have the right to see you erased from existence-”
“That’s a bit harsh,” Dongwoo muttered out between his rant.
“But since we are, in fact, in the human world, I’m simply going to say: you owe me. Big.”
“I know, I’m sorry, if there’s anything I can do for you-“
“A blowjob.”
“…I’m sorry?” He’d been expecting him to ask for extended tv hours or longer walks… but he probably should have seen this coming, too.
“Obviously one blowjob isn’t going to be enough to pacify me, but we can start slow.”
“…you’re forcing me to do sexual favors because I put you in a closet for a few hours?”
“Hey, I was bored out of my mind in that closet, okay? Not to mention worried sick about you.” Dongwoo looked away at that one. “Plus, you just admitted you like me, so it’s not like I’m forcing you to do something you don’t want to do… right?” he asked quietly, glowing red eyes boring into his own dark ones.
He blushed, lips pouting out slightly as he attempted to look anywhere but at Woohyun’s naked body hovering over his… excitedly.
"Right?” he said again, voice barely above a whisper as his lips hovered over his own. Red eyes assessed him briefly, as if making sure it was indeed okay, before he was finally closing the gap between them, faces so close their breaths mingled in anticipated panting. He could practically taste Woohyun on his tongue when-
The phone rang. Dongwoo snapped out of his lusting instantly, shoving Woohyun back onto the cold floor as he scurried over to the closet, rummaging around in the dark until finally picking up the phone with a breathy, “What’s up?”
“My, don’t you sound sexy today,” an amused Mr. Kim said drily.
“Bite me.”
“Well, if you insist.”
Dongwoo made a retching sound before growling out, “What do you want, lecher?”
“Oh, Woohyun didn’t tell you?” But of course he already knew Woohyun hadn’t if he was bothering to call. “Just thought I’d save us some daylight is all, lord knows what that blowjob would have turned into-“
“No thanks to you!” Woohyun growled from their bedroom. He had sulkily gotten off the floor to go put some actual clothes on while he was on the phone, and Dongwoo wasn’t sure how he felt about that. Would it have led to-
“Focus, Dongwoo.”
He grumbled at the phone, but turned to ice when his professor continued matter of factly, “They found another body today. Pretty sure it’s your soul snatcher, but if it is… this thing is working a lot faster than I could have anticipated. I can’t even get a read on the future involving it, but I’m sending Hoya over to the scene with some documents I found that might help you out.” Woohyun was already behind him, ready to go. “If anyone else was capable of doing this, I wouldn’t keep involving you. I’m sorry.”
“It’s no big deal,” he said quietly, though they both knew that’s not what he was thinking. Dongwoo grabbed the pen and paper out of Woohyun’s outstretched hand, writing the address and any further details down before badmouthing Mr. Kim half heartedly and hanging up.
“You wanna ghost over first?” he asked, proud that he kept the shake out of his voice, but Woohyun could feel it anyway as he pulled him up off the closet floor he’d been sprawled on, the hellhound flipping on the closet light and shaking his head no at the same time. He grimaced at the fluorescent beams. “Why do you always do that?” he asked in annoyance.
“And why do you always prefer the dark, hmm?”
“The light was off to begin with, loser,” he grumbled before walking over and slipping his shoes on to head out the door, Woohyun following close at his heels, his clawed hand hot where it rested on his lower back.

“Definitely the same being,” Woohyun confirmed, breaking the silence that had fallen over the two of them. Hoya had given them the papers Mr. Kim had wanted them to have when they'd first arrived, but was then forced out of the house all together. Hoya’s abilities would actually be a hindrance in this kind of scenario. He was a natural born blocker, a deadener, someone who could literally stop you from using your own powers if he wanted to. He hadn’t made many friends because of it, but that had only made Dongwoo and him closer. Plus, it was nice to feel normal every once in a while. Hoya could control it, but they weren’t taking any chances with him messing with the crime scene.
And what a scene it was.
It was a much richer neighborhood this time, the house new, renovated. Nothing looked wrong from the outside, or even the other rooms, but as soon as they stepped into the man’s bedroom: blood splattered the walls -too much to come from just one person- incantations written in the still tacky substance. A pentagram was drawn precisely on the floor, burnt out candles on each star point. He could only assume they weren’t made out of ordinary wax, the smell in the room pointing to something more… human. But it was the body in the center of the pentagram that they were concerned about.
When he switched his vision, the man’s soul was indeed gone like the last, his feet already making their way towards the corpse. Before he could step into the pentagram, however, Woohyun was pushing him back.
“Looks like we need Hoya, afterall.”
“Why?”
“Because whoever made this enchanted the hell out of it, and somehow I don’t think it was the soul snatcher.” He left to go get the other boy, wherever he was, leaving Dongwoo alone in the gorey room. He shook off the wariness he felt before looking down at the papers in his hands.
Woohyun was right, the soul snatcher couldn’t have done this: because this was a resurrection séance. Mr. Kim had made a list of body parts that would be missing if it was indeed what he thought it was. Dongwoo couldn’t really see what was missing from where he was standing, but the feeling in his gut said he didn’t have to. His professor had never been wrong before.
When Woohyun dragged Hoya into the room a few minutes later, the air felt much lighter, to Dongwoo’s relief. They watched as Hoya stepped into the pentagram warily, but as soon as his feet touched the blood drawn pattern, it was like someone has stuck a fork in a light socket, sparks shooting every which way until it was just Hoya standing on a normal marble floor with a dead man in front of him. Okay, so maybe not so normal, but at least the pentagram was gone.
“Looks like it was supposed to be a teleporter of some sort. Lucky I held you back, huh?” Woohyun said lightly, but his hand was now holding his own clammy one tightly. Dongwoo merely nodded numbly before thanking Hoya and watching his friend walk out of the room eagerly. He’d never been a fan of the occult, but then, neither had Dongwoo.
He stepped up to the body slowly, but already he didn’t like what he saw. Every organ and body part that was on the list was missing, save one: flesh. Flesh? Why was that the only thing missing? Had they somehow not had time to finish the ritual before the cops had found the place? He theorized that it probably would take a long time to skin someone. He then surmised that he probably shouldn’t be theorizing about that kind of stuff. Might give off the wrong impression.
“We can’t do shit if we don’t know where he’s headed next,” Woohyun growled. Of course the brain had already been removed from the body, so no point in trying to reanimate the poor guy. This thing wasn’t taking any chances anymore.
“Who do you think did all this in the first place?”
“There’s tons of easily manipulated people in the world, Dongwoo. It wouldn’t be hard to find someone to do something like this, given the right incentive.” Dongwoo paled before quickly turning to head out the door, but he stopped, frozen in place as he read what was written in blood above the only exit:
Jang Dongwoo.
Woohyun cursed. He’d forgotten about that, had meant to warn the kid when he’d first walked out and seen it. They’d both been so distracted with the body walking in they hadn’t even thought to look behind them.
“Well… I think it’s safe to say we know where he's headed next,” Dongwoo whispered before walking out of the room as calmly as anyone could in that kind of a situation. Which really wasn't all that calmly, now that he thought about it, but at least he hadn't thrown up this time. Always look on the bright side of life.

Woohyun watched Dongwoo chat briefly with Hoya from inside the taxi, growling openly and startling the taxi driver, before the two boys were clasping hands and bumping shoulders, Dongwoo hurriedly running up and hopping into the seat beside him. He then watched as he proceeded to text someone, but every time he’d try and peek over his shoulder, Dongwoo would glare at him and nudge him away.
But he knew the number he punched into his phone after by heart, sitting up in the seat excitedly.
He sat and listened to Dongwoo order the pizzas, not even thinking about the amount he was listing off to the delivery man, his mouth already salivating.
He hadn't even hung up the phone yet when he asked excitedly, “Are we having a date night? Cause you know, I’m more than okay with that.”
Dongwoo rolled his eyes at that, but leaned into him further, his eyes closing as he rested his head on Woohyun’s shoulder in exhaustion, but even that scared him now. He didn’t want Dongwoo falling asleep for fear of what could happen. He wasn’t even sure if he could protect Dongwoo anymore, sleeping or no, but he’d die trying.
Shaking the boy as the taxi stopped in front of their apartment building, he quickly paid the driver before hopping out of the car eagerly, pulling the sleepy Dongwoo with him. But the people they met up with in the elevator had him all but scowling.
So much for his date night.
